Today was my weekly trip down to Silicon Valley, pounding the pavement, digging up good dirt. And while I was busy pontificating here, Steve Rubel scored a big one. Scoop that is! C/Net has introduced NewsBurst, web-based RSS reader that will compete with Bloglines and Rojo. (Thanks guys for including me in the list, but it would be nice to be in the tech blogs list!) Nice way to get some brand loyalty going, and making c/net more sticky destination. Also does this mean the market for RSS readers has topped? Mark Fletcher is a smart man – he took his money and ran. John Battelle says he got $14 million, I think it could be way north of that. You Software has released You Subscribe – if you have Outlook, you are going to dig this one! It now “imports subscriptions from Newsgator, IntraVnews and other OPML subscriptions.”
