Good question, no good answers really!
This is something I said in an e-mail a few days ago:
One thing to keep in mind about all of these services [3G] is that the upload speeds tend to be
less than 100 kbps. This is not a big deal for downlink based activities like surfing and downloading large files and watching streaming video, but it may preclude two-way video applications and in some cases even VoIP and will make sending large e-mails an unpleasant experience. A need to support high-end two-way applications is a driver for building one’s own network, as decent uplink speeds will not be seen from 3G for another 2 years.
I always forget the “less than sign” causes problems.
