Today, perhaps is the very first day of my life when I do not miss New York. Last 12 hours I have been on the phone with some of my friends, and they all are complaining about the bitter cold. They have a reason to complain. As Jeff Jarvis says, it is colder than a TimesMan’s heart. Of course this is an opportune moment to crack Canadian jokes, as Gothamist does. (Here is a full report from AP.) National Weather Service predicts that it would feel like 25 below zero (F) mostly because of the wind gusts of speeds up to 30 miles per hour. The New York Times has this really long article about the bitter cold, which gives you some idea. In comparison, it feels almost temperate here in San Francisco, which is now a balmy 45 degrees. Tommy B, here I come.
