T.J. Rehmi, a time tested pioneer in South Asian Electronica has just released his fifth full-length album The Warm Chill. An exciting shift into new territory and with his history as a producer it’s innovative as expected. Moving beyond the dancefloor and the heavy beats Rehmi takes us on an intelligent and masterfully produced-sound induced odyssey. Saying this album is a downtempo album really doesn’t do justice. There’s a several genres he highlights and gives his flavor to Dub, trip hop, IDM, Drum and Bass. The Warm Chill is abstract and represents the cutting edge of South Asian electronic composition. Axis Of Ignorance takes Indian music into an environment not previously explored in-depth. You have to hear it to believe. As with all of his albums they come highly recommended and this is no exception. Review by Dj Advent [via Tablatronic.Net]
