Nasha’s Cutting Edge Break Beats

Nasha is a collective encompassing some of the U.K’s top South Asian DJ’s and producers. Ges-E, a resident DJ and producer put’s it this way “we’ve been meshing D&B, the hardcore end of breaks and traditional Indian sounds for awhile now, but labels weren’t pushing it in the direction we wanted so in ’01 we set-up Nasha to do it ourselves.” At the tail end of 03, Nasha put out their first compilation”Eastern Drum and Breaks.” Hands down the most incredible line-up I’ve seen for an Asian Massive compilation. There’s cuts by old school Anokha producers Osmani Sounds and Equal-I, Outcaste legends Ges-E and Niraj Chag, Tabla wizard Aref Durvesh, Breakbeat and D&B maestro’s Visionary Underground, Bandish project a duo from Gujarat, and prolific producer Simbad. If cutting edge South Asian Breaks and Drum and Bass is your cup of chai, there is no better recipe than this. by Dj Advent [via Tablatronic.NET]
