* On Indian History: “Indian people were taken to South Africa as slaves. Who the hell uses an Indian slave? Do I look physically ready to do hard labour? My people don’t work that hard. Give us a calculator-we’ll do your taxes, man.”
* On Growing Up in a Multicultural Society : “When I was a kid, I wanted to be Jamaican so bad, I started dressing like a Jamaican. I started wearing a little red, yellow and green belt. I started talking like a Jamaican. I started listening to Reggae music. I started having kids I didn’t know about….”
* On Inter-Racial Marriage: “Hook up a Jamaican with an Italian: they can have little Pastafarians. I could hook up with a Jewish girl: we could have little Hinjews. You get a woman from the Philippines, a guy from Holland: little Holapenos. A guy from Cuba, a woman from Iceland: little Ice Cubes. A French and a Greek: Freek. A German and a Newfie: little Goofies. It’s going to happen.”
Saw Russell Peters on Comedy Now and I laughed ’til I cried. He’s the funniest comic I’ve seen on that show. I’m hoping he’ll come to the ‘Peg so I can laugh at him in person. Kudos to the guy. He’s really going places.
I have been trying to repeat a bit of Russell’s show I saw 2 years ago to some friends, I was laughing so hard I cried. Then, I just happened to see him last night on the Comedy Hour. Wow, he does the dad thing which I love and did the piece from 2 years ago “Someone is going to get a hurt”. I am German/English and I can relate to the strict parent deal, while I have kids now whose friends have parents like Ryan’s. We have friends who are Indian & can’t wait for them to see Russell. Awesome dude.
Can you please direct me to the website where I can purchase a Russell Peters DVD or Video.
Thank you.
