Since Monday, we are seeing some serious misreporting of data on Google Analytics. The numbers are in sync with what is a typical day when we use Statscounter, but Google numbers are way off – high some day, and low the next. Anyone else having similar problems?
Updated: Google folks were kind enough to look into this and they pointed out that there were two scripts, one from the site, and one from Personal Bee that was creating the problems. A little hack they suggested has fixed the problem. Thanks guys, for your help.
And those of you who wrote in, my undying gratitude.
Its always been a bit buggy for me. I had a whole week blank once for it, and no matter how hard my friend and I tried to fix it, it didn’t work. But it started working again after that.
Don’t see this problem with my GA/Statcounter reports.
Am not sure but is it possible that GA javascript snippet is missing on some of your pages ?
I have been trying to get to the bottom of this. we did not change anything at all, and this is confusing like crazy. anyway thanks for your help on this one. and if there are further questions, hopefully ya all can help!
Google Analytics always seems to under represent for my site. We do our own internal metrics and found that GA is, on average, off by 10% (on the low side). Figured it was just a deal with users that dont have Javascript enabled…
