gang starr.jpegOne of my all time favorite musical stylist, Guru (Formerly of GangStarr) passed away this past week. He was only 47. He made hip-hop cool & jazzy. He was positive and he was simply awesome. He was my New York Soundtrack. He will always be part of my immigrant experience. I still cherish his Jazzmatazz seriesalbums.

I mentioned his passing to my friend Tim, who then emailed me this quote to remind me of Guru. I guess we all need to remember that. Especially this week when I saw Facebook launch its assault on Google.

“They say it’s lonely at the top, in whatever you do
You always gotta watch motherfuckers around you
Nobody’s invincible, no plan is foolproof
We all must meet our moment of truth” — Guru
