Berlin is an interesting place. A city that is old and new at the same time. Instead of taking pictures of some of the classic tourist spots, I ended up spending an inordinate amount of time looking at the Rolling Horse sculpture at the Berlin Central Station. Jürgen Goertz sculpture is half horse, horsehalf wheel and in many ways it symbolizes the industrial age so well. In a century from now, we will think of it as a symbol of a different way of life. Here are four different views of the Rolling Horse taken with iPhone 4S.

Sculptors manage to amaze me as much as the best musicians. A craft that’s capable of encompassing an enormous range of communication with a single act of creation.

These is just an amazing piece of work in my opinion. I have been thinking about it more and more.
great pics, great sculpture. sorry for being pedantic but a minor typo – I presume you meant half-wheel when you wrote horse wheel. cheers.
P.S: no need to publish the comment. I just thought this would be the easiest means to bring the typo to your notice.
Fixed. Thanks for letting me know!
I think many people who commute / travel via Hauptbahnhof do not get to seee this sculpture as it stands a bit aside of the crowd. A pity — I like it!
