Wisdom from one of cricket’s great players

“My approach to cricket has been reasonably simple: it was about giving everything to the team, it was about playing with dignity and it was about upholding the spirit of the game. I hope I have done some of that. I have failed at times, but I have never stopped trying. It is why I leave with sadness but also with pride.” (Rahul Dravid, cricket player for India on his retirement.)

These values are applicable to everything we do in life. I am a big admirer of Dravid, who like Bernie Williams of The New York Yankees, did his job, without much fanfare and distraction and ego.

  1. It was an exceptionally sad day for cricket. Dravid is what cricket should be like. Second highest run scorer.. not a bad feat given that he came at 5 down for a very long time in his career.

I am pretty sure I wont be more bummed for the departure of any other cricketer more than this guy..
