It is April 1st. April Fool’s Day. And while it is great for kids to play jokes and pull pranks, I am not able to understand why tech companies get so jazzed about this day. And even when they do, the jokes are not funny. I mean, if as a company you are un-funny for most of the year, then this one day won’t make you funny. Infact, your lame jokes will make your un-funniness more obvious.

Not sure if serious or April Fools.
Unlike. Get a sense of humor Om. Some people like Halloween. You down on that too? The tech world is so self absorbed and serious you have to show your other side. Mashable does on a regular basis. Google too. If you can’t make fun of yourself, other people will do it for you.
The problem is Art, that you missed the point. I like funny jokes just don’t like shit that is un-funny. I have a sense of humor, just not easily amused by lame stuff.
Grouch 🙂
Sure, most are unfunny. But lightening the mood up a bit doesn’t hurt anything. And there have been a few gems over the years (OMG PONIES!!!!!!). If anything, it’s a reminder to stop taking ourselves too seriously and have some fun with our work.
Lol. The Virgin Volcanic joke was actually funny and worth it. I liked that one the most. But not from a tech company but from Richard Branson who is actually funny much of the time and was in character with this one as well. Great jokes are ones that are believable yet silly.
och, don’t be such a grump. let people have a laugh once in a while. the funnier the better. yes it would be nice if people could be consistently good humored. but we’re a messy species.
it’s the one day they let the software developers be seen by the outside world. Fortunately they keep a great sense of humour and fun.
