Earlier today George Lucas made about $4.05 billion – by selling LucasFilm (the company behind Star Wars franchise) to Disney. He owned 100 percent of the company. And not surprisingly Twitter lit up like a christmas tree. Here are some gems that I think are worth sharing.

  • Wall-E meet R2-D2 … nuff said – Rich Greenfield
  • Looking forward to Disney’s “The Little Mermaid: Attack of the Clones” —  Aaron Levie
  • C’mon interwebs, where’s Yoda with the Mickey ears on? — DefCon_5
  • Now that Disney owns Lucasfilm, maybe they have the money to finally begin work on the third Death Star — Darth Vader
  • Does the Disney/Lucasfilm merger mean that Leia is now a Disney Princess? – The Dark Lord
  • Avengers. Muppets. Disney does good things with franchises it buys. Could be the best thing to happen to SW since Lego — Justin David Blanset
  • “Join me and together we can rule Disneyland as father and mouse.” -Darth Mickey. Death Star PR
  • $4.05B? I think the extra $50 million was a Jedi mind trick George pulled on Bob Iger – Andy Garlikov
