Every so often, I am privileged enough to be invited on NPR’s Marketplace Show to talk about the latest in technology. Today, I am offering my take on Netflix, what we should expect from their earnings report and why they are one of the most disruptive companies in the world of entertainment. It is pretty likely you guys missed it on radio, but fine folks at NPR/Marketplace have a recording available on their website.

Netflix is a conundrum of the goods with the less-than-optimal qualities that don’t really bear mentioning, except for the subtle what to what home page. As much as the cue of specialized meta data viewing options covers most of one’s basic algorithm tastes, the selection has a high bunk factor, and I don’t think I’ve ever fully utilized my media allotment in relation to the amortized monthly fee. However, it’s an alternative to cable, that archaic albatross of forced-down-throat mainstream entertainment piped in thru 485 channels of not much on tv tonight, is there honey?
