One the suggestion of one of our loyal readers, I am changing my name to iOM, mostly because I am in love with my Mac. Now don’t think I am crazy Mac-fiend. I just love the idea that none of the viruses that plague the WinTel world will be able to infect my tiny little PowerBook.






Bhappi comes back from the dead

What will Lahiri do? In India, he used to copy western tunes. Maybe he would do the exact opposite for the New York market.

Indian music director and playback singer Bappi Lahiri is releasing a lounge music album that features songs by international artistes, his daughter and him.

This is what he thinks about this album.

“This is truly world music. My aim is the Grammy,” said the veteran of 25 years, 500 films and 4,000 songs.

Grammy in what? Cut-and-paste is not a category for which you can win an award.

Bend it like Parminder

Better late, really late than never. At the long last we have a brownie making a debut on ER. Show producers never had to go to ER or they would have seen who really has been cleaning up the mess in ERs. Anyway Parminder Nagra of Bend It Like Beckham fame is going to make her debut this season on ER.

She joins the cast of “ER” as third-year medical student Neela Rasgotra in a decidedly less athletic role. “She’s somebody who seems astute, very hardworking and keen to learn,“ says Nagra. “I’d also say that I am somebody who is hardworking and keen to learn — although I do have my lazy days!” [NBC/ER]
