The Radicati Group predicts that the number of fixed broadband users in Western Europe will grow to 118 million lines and a total market revenue of €34.6 billion ($50.7 billion) in 2011 from 92 million lines today. That’s very correct. The european market has two extremes. Some countries (eg: in Skandinavia) are already saturated in terms of broadband penetration and already have very high speeds, whereas south and east Europe is still struggling with infrastructure problems and limited user interest. Percentage increases are very impressive for low penetration markets and have to be accompanied by absolute numbers for a real picture of the situation…
