BellSouth Cuts DSL Prices
BellSouth, is cutting prices on its higher end DSL prices, perhaps due to a triple play threat posed by Comcast, that recently launched its VoIP services in the Atlanta area. I am no big fan of duoply, but if it means $5 less from consumers, the market place seems to be working, in a dysfunctional sort of a way.
As part of the cuts, the residential FastAccess DSL Xtreme, which features downstream connection speeds of up to 3Mbps, by $5, to $37.95 per month. In addition, new residential customers who purchase FastAccess DSL Ultra, FastAccess DSL Xtreme or FastAccess DSL Xtreme 6.0 will get a $50 Visa gift card. I find it ironic that BellSouth, is cutting prices, when other DSL incumbents are not, or are even increasing the monthly charges.
Ah, yes. The sweet stench of market competition … better services at lower cost.

Yeah but bellsouth is the one losing most business customers, they probably need to retain residential customers….
