BellSouth, like the other three baby bells has decided to jump onto the VoIP bandwagon, according to Wall Street Journal.
bq. Equipment and software for the new service will be delivered by Lucent Technologies Inc., which has signed a three-year agreement with BellSouth. BellSouth has run a pilot version of the services for several months.
This is clearly a slap in the face for Cisco, which has been working with BellSouth for the longest time, and has posed as the leader in the VoIP space.
