Hey anyone remember the funky ole BeOS which became such a darling of the hackers, and died a horrible death with Apple chose to buy NextOS and bring back Steve Jobs. Well looks like it is not dead after all, thanks to a German software start-up, Yellow Tab. They have turned BeOS into ZetaOS, a new twist on BeOS. NewsForge experimented with this and found the software quite perky. “All of this in a system that could boot in 10 to 15 seconds on most hardware, and that was as stable as a rock,” they write. Apparently the company has updated support for most if not all modern hardware. There are tons of applications available as well. Only problem – costs 99 euros.
