Colorado decides to keep VoIP Tax Free
State of Colorado had decided to keep the VoIP tax and regulation free, for now. The decision was taken by a state house panel yesterday. The bill was backed by many including Qwest Communications. It was opposed by municipalities, counties and some local lawmakers. “We’re a little premature in trying to set something up,” Rep. Val Vigil, D-Thornton, who chairs the finance panel, told Rocky Mountain News. Nevertheless, Colorado has taken a more enlightened approach than other states like Kansas and Pennsylvania who want to tax VoIP.
