Internet Week says DoD is planning to use IPv6 as catalyst for net-centric warfare. The pane is pretty vague, but Pentagon planners were recently heard talking about IPv6 as the center piece of their defense strategy. With all the information coming from satellites and other sources is going to be routed over a IPv network. As far as DoD planners are concerned, the 2008 deadline is nonnegotiable, the article says, and adds, The deadline “is like Y2K for us, there will be no waivers.”
