With Sextel deal on its way, iGIlliot Research has some thoughts on who are the likely winners. Their big winner is Samsung, which has a pretty tight relationship with Sprint. Now they have a bigger market to sell to as the Nextel’s subscriber base moves to the CDMA network. Other winners could be integration services: IBM, HP and company. Unlikely winners could SIM card makers, since iDEN uses SIM cards. The two companies can offer CDMA handsets with a SIM card (as is available in China) – and also a good way to differentiate the company from Verizon Wireless.
