Google’s Blogger blogging service is finally catching up with the times. It is now adding video uploading to the service, making it easy for folks who use Blogger to add video to their blog posts. On their blog, the Blogger team explains how this is going to work.
When you go to the Blogger post editor, you’ll see a new button () next to the image uploading one. Just select a video from your computer, wait a few minutes for the upload and processing to occur, and voila!

Hmm, I would’ve thought that with their addition to YouTube allowing you to link your Google Account and your YouTube account they would have tried to do it through YouTube. I suppose this might be simpler for those without YouTube accounts.
Since, this new feature uploads Videos to Google Video, instead of YouTube; I’m quite unsure whether it requires prior approval and/or the Blogger’s Blogspot ID is tracked for a respective video?
Moreover the interface lacks an “Embed this Video” option, which is very much essential to the Blogging community.
Nevertheless, I’m still waiting for an advancement on the Podcasting front.
It’s no surprise that Google’s blog would upgrade to meet the capabilities of competitors. I have yet to see popularity in video blogging to skyrocket, but who knows? Maybe it’ll be popular next week.
