Now that the Telecom Act of 1996 has been sent to the mortuary for all practical purposes, there is need for a new bill. (One way of keeping the pesky politicians busy. The new 77-page proposal has been tabled by the House Energy and Commerce Committee. The idea is to overhaul the laws to meet the realities of the post-Internet society. I will be reading this, as I consume copious amounts of lemon-flavored tea and fight off the cold, and will be back with a longish analysis of what’s to like and dislike in this proposal. via
