Even more scared are probably AT&T Wireless and CIngular…whose service barely scrapes 100kbps half the time…..
Nice thing about Flash OFDM is it’s supposed to have less than 20ms latency, which at 1.5Mbps, makes it not only a wireless competitor, but a landline one as well….
Anyone aware of any large companies in the Raleigh/Durham area that are adopting Nextel’s wireless broadband service? Are you aware of their thoughts on this service, are they impressed or not impressed? Just wondering if this service is gaining business customer acceptance or just a gee whiz technology right now.
Here is a link to a field test by RBC.
RBC raves about Flarion, calls it vastly superior to VZW’s 1xEV-DO and of course AWE’s EDGE and PCS’s 1xRTT.
Flarion is a better verison of Qualcomm’s vaporware known as 1xEV-DV Release D, which is due sometime in 2006.
I’ve yet to see many trials, open up to the paying general public so quickly. Nextel must be impressed, and VZW, etc. must be scared.
