A year ago it would have been impossible to read a story about VoIP in a major news daily forget about smaller town and city newspapers. Star Telegram has this interesting little piece about VoIP and how is is spreading in smaller towns where people are sick and tired of paying huge phone bills. There is a mention of a new player, Nuvio of Kansas City, Mo which is competing with the likes of Vonage of New Jersey and 8×8 of California. According to Kansas City Business Journal, Nuvio went into business only a week ago. “Right now, we’re the only Voice-over-IP company that is able to serve the Kansas City market,” jason Talley, CEO of the new start-up bragged. What I like about these guys: small business package for $50 a month. Call as much as you want. The company is also offering hosted IP-PBX service.
