Plaxo has launched their new social alerts service, Pulse, that launched earlier this morning. This launch is part of company’s on-going makeover, and trying to find a place in the new social web landscape.
[qi:004] C/Net News.com has a nice review. Pulse has a connections feature, and since morning I have been getting connection requests, that is proving to be a mild irritant. I wish Plaxo gave their subscribers a heads-up so we could tweak our privacy settings, and ignore connection requests.
Frankly, I don’t want any more connections: between LinkedIn emails, Facebook Alerts, Pownce and Twitter requests, my E-Mail InBox is resembling an old Moroccan bazaar.
Also: Wired is calling for social networks to open up and inter operate.
I think that openning networking site to interconnect is a great idea. Ultimately, I would like to go to one site and have all my links there or at least the option to update them all at the same time.

old moroccan bazaar… use more one liners like this on the gigaom show!
Hey I finally got some sleep and now feeling very “one linerish” right now.
Plaxo is doing it the right way, but eventually this’ll looks like a battle headed for Facebook more than anything. I’m a long time Premium member so I’m using it till I find something better.
I just deleted my Plaxo account, I’m not a fan of the new Plaxo Pulse.
