The readers (viewers) have been glued to the updates, he told us. There is a massive fire in the Santa Cruz mountains and some of the smoke from that fire has enveloped parts of Silicon Valley; we can even feel the impact up in San Francisco. There are several Twitter alerts out as well.

Earlier news outlets and citizens had used Twitter and YouTube to cover the fires in Southern California and provide updates when it was difficult for media outlets to do so.
