  1. The problem is… why would the media companies want this? How much of their revenue is from people purchasing CDs that they already own? I know I’ve replaced a good number of CDs and a couple of DVDs because they’ve been scratched up quite a bit.

    If I remember correctly the protective coating on Blu-ray discs is actually optional.

  2. Shoot… should have RTFA: “With nearly $1 million in funding, Scratch-Less is bringing its brand of CD-Rs and recordable DVDs to stores”

    That makes sense. Sony/BMG/TimeWarner using this tech doesn’t make sense (at least, from their point of view – for consumers it would be great).
