  1. SBC’s comments have the ring of truth to them. To get 9-1-1, E or otherwise, there are many hoops to jump through. The system that is in place is almost certainly not the most efficient and I’m sure the approach Vonage wanted to take would have been an improvement, but since when has anything involving working with the government (in this case local and state governments) ever involved an efficient process. Companies far larger than Vonage have had to bend over and take it, when it came to 9-1-1.
