On Monday morning, shehnai maestro, Ustad Bismillah Khan suffered from cardiac arrest in the town of Varanasi, in northern India.

His demise is a great loss to classical Indian music in particular and the world music scene in general.

Our prayers and wishes go out to his family. May he rest in peace.
