A very long time ago I met Sheila Marcelo and wrote about her company, Care.com when Reid Hoffman invested in the company. She was a guest on The GigaOM Show (on Revision 3.) It was clear she was onto something big. With estimated revenues of around $80 million for 2013, Care.com went public on January 25 and was up 40 percent in its first session. Today it closed at about $25 a share, giving the company a market capitalization of about $723 million. This is the best part of being a chronicler of other people’s stories: seeing them succeed. Congrats!
