Index Ventures, a London-based venture capital firm that has invested in companies such as Skype, MySQL and Last.fm, has raised a new $442 million fund. Index Ventures V will invest in early-stage companies across geographies including the United States and Israel. They will also invest in cleantech startups. So far, Index has been focused on European startups. Index’s recent investments include RightScale and WooMe. (Related post: Return of Danny Rimer.)
