What is the best smartphone to buy? Permanent 4 aka Dave is facing that question and he brings up some very valid points. Well it is a relatively personal decision, and despite a large number of choices, I think it boils down to how and where you use your smartphone. I am perfectly comfortable doing text messaging and email on a Nokia 6620 and hence prefer that over a say, Treo 650. However, others like Pocket PC phones. For those of you who desperately crave a keyboard, and use windows, but don’t do email more than once or twice a day, I think Nokia 6620 paired with a Pocket PC device with keyboard is a good option. For others who are heavy users of email on the go, I recommend the Pocket PC XDA and its many variants or if you must, get a Treo 650.
Om Malik found my blog! I’m not worthy! =^)
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Beware of the P900. I see no mention of it in the article, and it’s a valid alternative for what he needs. I love the screen, the Opera browser and it’s “openness”. I hate it crashing every couple of weeks. And by crashing I mean features not working and having to take it back to the shop for repairs. I’ve had it for 6 months now, and it’s been repaired 5 times. I’m going to the shop today. To get a new one (probably a S700 –more “phone”, less “smart”–, but I might fall for the P910).
