Chris Alden, former publisher of Red Herring and co-founder of RSS aggregator Rojo Networks, has been named the new CEO and chairman of blogging software giant Six Apart.
Alden first joined Six Apart more than a year ago, after the San Francisco-based creator of Movable Type, Vox and TypePad acquired Rojo. Alden succeeds Barak Berkowitz, who has served as chairman and CEO since January 2004. Six Apart was started by high school sweethearts Ben and Mena Trott and is backed by David Hornik of August Capital and others.
congratulations to them – loved red herring for years and hope that this guy can bring some new magic to six apart…hoping that they’ll add something like gelatocms to their lineup (or a twitter-esque solution for the mass market, either would be great)…
