The GSM Edge

MobileTracker points to a press release from 3G Americas that states that there are around 108 carriers looking to support EDGE, the (somewhat) higher-speed wireless connectivity technology. AT&T is planning to launch the EDGE service in some cities later this month.

  1. Good for GSM users. But by definition GSM based data speeds will have a difficult task of matching EVDO.
    Another reason customers will move to Verizon
    Also, Sprint may finally be able to take share from the TDMA/GSM carriers
